Lockdown in Goa from today: Know the Travel restrictions

Goa Raj Bhavan closed to tourists for security reasons

UK-based TUI Airways has been awarded slots at Dabolim airport, giving a big relief to the tourism industry in Goa as TUI Airways brings around 30,000 tourists throughout the season. “The first TUI aircraft is scheduled to land at Dabolim airport on November 2 at around 11.30 am. Russians tops list of foreign tourist arrivals in Goa in 2018

Russians continued to top the list of foreign tourists to Goa in 2018, with British tourists ranking second, according to statistics tabled during the ongoing budget session of the Goa Assembly on Wednesday. A total of 3.11 lakh Russians arrived in Goa from January to October 2018, Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar said in a written reply. Another 1.48 lakh tourists from the UK also landed in Goa during the same period. Ukraine ranked third with 10,466 tourists. Overall, 6.04 lakh foreign tourists visited Goa from January to October 2018, said Ajgaonkar.

No plan for new casinos in Goa: Tourism Minister

There will not be any proposal for new casinos in Goa, as per the new tourism master plan, said Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar in the legislative assembly “All stakeholders involved in the tourism industry would be consulted, before finalizing the master plan, which incidentally has been criticized by stakeholders as well as Opposition members,” said the tourism minister in a written reply on a question regarding new casinos. “The tourism master plan was prepared after various consultative sessions with several concerned stakeholders, obtaining views and comments from the elected representatives, local authorities as well as the general public,” added the ... Indian Hotels Company to revamp Ginger hotels

The Indian Hotels Company is planning to spend Rs 180-200 crore to revamp budget brand Ginger Hotels. The estimated cost, as per ET reports, is Rs 8-10 lakh per key. The company is planning to renovate hotels located in key markets over the next two years and is evaluating monetising its assets to fund the proposed renovation. Indian and UK navies begin joint drill in Goa

Naval cooperation between India and the United Kingdom is based on the long term strategic relationship between both countries. Both Navies have, over the years, undertaken bilateral activities such as training exchanges and technical cooperation. The Bilateral KONKAN exercise provides a platform for the two Navies to periodically exercise at sea and in harbour, so as to build interoperability and share best practices.
