Jordan offers Visa on Arrival for Indian nationals

Jordan now offers ‘Visa on Arrival’ to Indian nationals at all border crossings valid for a period of 30 days. The only document they should possess is proof of onward journey or return ticket. If they wish to, Indians can also continue to receive visas directly through Jordanian diplomatic missions before they travel. Jordan boasts 21,000 archaeological and historical sites that span millennia. They include the Roman ruins of Jerash, the Dead Sea and Wadi Al-Kharrar, or Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where some biblical historians believe Jesus was baptised. Indians prefer long-haul foreign tourist attractions this summer: Report

With summer vacations fast approaching, most Indians are planning to head to long-haul international destinations with booking going up by 25 per cent compared to last year, said a report published by online travel company MakeMyTrip. About 50 per cent of the bookings are made by travellers in the 25-35 age group, says the report. “Long-haul destinations have registered higher growth this year compared to short-haul ones, with a significant 25 percent growth in the number of trips year-on-year,” said Mohit Gupta, chief operating officer, MakeMyTrip. Jordan announces launch of ‘Art Destination Jordan’

The Jordan Tourism Board, in partnership with Universes in Universe-Worlds of Art, has launched ‘Art Destination Jordan’, a website that gives a glimpse into both the modern and ancient art scene in Jordan, on the first day of ITB Berlin. Jordan tourism revenue up by 12.5%

According to the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ), the tourism revenues in 2017 increased by 12.5 per cent, up to $4.6 billion, compared to $4.1 billion in 2016. The report says that the increase was mainly due to an 8.7 per cent rise in the total number of tourists in 2017. In December 2017, the Kingdom’s revenues from tourism went up by 9.1 per cent, reaching $340.9 million, compared to the same month in 2016, as the result of the increase in the total number of tourists by 6.2 per cent compared to the same month in 2016, the statement ...
