Covid cases have dropped, tourism in Britain is resuming

Britain is set to resume tourism in the country as the number of covid cases has come down. Foreign tourists can also visit the UK for tourism. Tourist attractions in the UK will be open from May 17. Only travelers from Green List countries can fly to the UK. This includes Israel, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. China’s Hainan offer ‘free visa’ for tourists from 59 countries

Hainan, a small southern island province of China, plans to offer visa-free on arrival for over 59 countries. According to media reports, the policy might come into force from 1st May in which the travellers are permitted to stay for over 30 days. As part of the new policy, individual tourist and groups from countries namely Britain, France, Germany, and the United States, can visit Hainan visa-free and stay there for up to 30 days on conditions. Kerala Blog Express flagged off

The fifth edition of the much awaited, annual two-week-long bus trip, the Kerala Blog Express, organised by state Tourism Department has been flagged off from Mascot Hotel by Minister for Tourism Kadakampally Surendran. “The two-week journey by ‘Kerala Blog Express’ would cover all the important destinations in Kerala and would conclude the trip in Kochi on 1st April. The event is aimed to promote Kerala Tourism on a global perspective, through the views of bloggers,” said Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran. UK Freeze warning

BBC Weather has warned there is a chance that “just about anywhere” could see snow over the weekend and into next week as Arctic air spreads across Britain. Temperatures in the evenings are set to push the mercury below -10 degree Celsius in parts of the country. “There is a chance of rain, sleet and some snow throughout the day.” The Met Office along with Public Health England (PHE) has an ‘alert and readiness’ health warning in place across northern England. Elderly and vulnerable people have been urged to take extra care and to wrap up against the cold temperatures through the coming days.

New €1.8 mn Wild Atlantic Way initiative launched

A new €1.8 million initiative specially designed to boost tourist numbers from Britain to the Wild Atlantic Way has been launched. The Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin,  Niall Gibbons of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland’s Paul Keeley launched the new campaign. A €1.35 million marketing campaign in Britain will be complemented by Fáilte Ireland’s €500,000 programme to support businesses along the Wild Atlantic Way to position themselves to benefit from the campaign, as well as to boost its own marketing campaigns in Northern Ireland.
