Croatia and Slovenia to have joint tourism promotion in China

National Tourist Board of Croatia has announced on Tuesday, 28th August 2018, that the European Travel Commission (ETC) has approved funds to Croatian and Slovenian tourism authorities for their joint promotion in China. The programme named “Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia” is aiming at enhancing the visibility and reputation of the two counties in the Chinese market and presents them as ideal tourism destinations in European. Kochi airport restarts operations after Kerala floods

Kochi Airport, which has been closed since August 15 following incessant rain and flood that caused massive destruction to the state of Kerala, has resumed  operations at 2 pm today. Indigo flight 667 from Ahmadabad to Kochi was the first flight landed at the airport. As per the official circular issued by the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) on Monday, all airlines, both domestic and international, will commence with the current schedule of operations. Indonesia’s Tourism Ministry join hands with MakeMyTrip

The Ministry of Tourism of Republic of Indonesia (MoTRI) has signed a strategic agreement with MakeMyTrip to promote Indonesian Tourism in India. Under this partnership, MakeMyTrip and MoTRI will actively run campaigns across MakeMyTrip platforms to endorse tourism to Bali, Jakarta and other regions in Indonesia. MakeMyTrip will launch a 360-degree online campaign on its platforms, external websites and social media to promote tourism to Indonesia. GoAir likely to start international operations from October

GoAir is likely to fly international from October, with the first flight to operate on the Mumbai-Phuket route. The bookings for the international flight will commence soon. The airline is expected to officially announce this development tomorrow. “We will be launching our international operations with a flight to Phuket (Thailand) from Mumbai in October. We have all regulatory approvals in place and the flight is expected to go into the system (bookings) in a week’s time,” said an official to PTI. Rwanda’s tourism sector in an upward swing

Mount Muhavura, on the border between Rwanda and Uganda. Rwanda’s tourism sector shows a positive trend as per the latest report by Rwanda Development Board (RDB). Last year the tourism sector generated revenue of USD 438 million, which is about 50 per cent of all service exports. In terms of the source of the revenue, the East African Community became the highest source of revenue across all categories with 25 per cent of the total revenue.  Europe contributed 22 per cent, while the rest of Africa generated 21 per cent. ISRO on the verge of launching first Indian to space

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is on track to send human to space in its ‘Gaganyaan Mission’.  the space agency said Tuesday. “The total programme cost is expected to be less than Rs 10,000 crores. Two unmanned Gaganyaan missions will be undertaken prior to sending humans to space,” ISRO chief K Sivan said today. Indonesia to tap tourism to tackle current account deficit

Bali, Indonesia Indonesian President Joko Widodo has vowed to handle Indonesia’s current account deficit, which has been rocketing these years. Currently the deficit is about US$25 billion.
