Emirates to operate extra flights for busy Hajj season

Emirates will be operating extra flights to Jeddah and Medina to help facilitate travel for pilgrims heading to and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Hajj. Emirates will be operating 33 additional flights to Jeddah and Medina from 6 to 31 August to support the journey for pilgrims expected to travel to the Holy City of Mecca during Hajj this year. Emirates to fly to Pakistan on July 8

Emirates has announced that it will deploy a one-off A380 service to Islamabad on 8 July 2018. The airline’s iconic double-decker will make its inaugural arrival in Islamabad on a special flight EK2524/EK2525. The A380 flight will depart Dubai on 8 July 2018 at 08 am and arrive in Islamabad at 12.10 pm. Emirates reverses decision, will serve ‘Hindu meal’ on flights

Following strong reaction and demand from the passengers to reverse the decision to take off ‘Hindu meal’ from its menu, Emirates has decided to reinstate the ‘Hindu meal option’ for its passengers. “Based on feedback from our customers, Emirates confirms we will continue to provide a ‘Hindu meal option’, to make it easier for our Hindu customers to identify and request this option. The decision to discontinue ‘Hindu meal option’ had created a stir on the social media with passengers calling for reversal of the decision by the airline. Emirates has introduced 3D seat models on emirates.com, becoming the first airline to introduce web virtual reality (VR) technology on its digital platform. Emirates will stop serving ‘Hindu Meals’ on flights

UDAN is not in favour of Kannur Ariport – Kerala CM

“Non-participation of Kannur Airport in the UDAN scheme is due to the possible loss of income for our state,” said Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarai Vjayan. He was delivering his keynote at the MP’s meet in Thiruvananthapuram. “If we are part of the UDAN scheme, only one aviation company can operate in a particular route. Oman Air launches new route to Casablanca

Oman Air has launched a new flight from Muscat to the Moroccan city of Casablanca today. Oman Air is looking into further expanding its fleet and destination network as the airline continues to grow its operations out of its hub in Muscat. The new route comes after Oman Air’s most recent service inaugurated to Istanbul on June 1 and ahead of its winter launch to Moscow planned to take place in October 2018. Vietnam extends visa waiver for UK, France travellers

From the beginning of July, citizens from the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy will get visa exemptions for the next three years, until June 30, 2021. Vietnam has first offered visa waivers for citizens from five European countries in July, 2015. The policy has been updated annually and would have expired at the end of June. Vietnam is among those countries which has strictest visa policy in Asia. The country currently offers visa waivers to visitors from 24 countries and territories, including the ASEAN member countries. Kannur airport to be fully operational by September

The Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu has said that the Kannur airport will be provided with all possible help to make it fully operational by September this year. Emirates enhances Luanda service

Emirates announced that it will reinstate two weekly flights between Luanda and Dubai, increasing capacity to five flights per week between the two cities, starting from 1 July 2018. Air India revises excess baggage charges on domestic travel

Air India has announced that it has revised the excess baggage charges by Rs 100 per kg to Rs 500 for domestic travels from June 11, 2018. As of now, the airline charges Rs 400 per kg for excess baggage.
