More than 3000 people visit Emirates A380 at first Saudi International Airshow

The Emirates A380 drew in more than 3000 visitors in two days at the first ever Saudi International Airshow. The Emirates A380 was the largest commercial aircraft on display at the milestone event. The aircraft received a royal visit from HRH Sultan bin Salman, Chairman of the Board of Saudi Space Agency. Thai Smile to fly from Kolkata, five times a week

Thai Smile, the regional carrier of Thai Airways, is all set to start operating from Kolkata to Bangkok, five times a week, from March 31, 2019. The aircraft used for the operations on this route is Airbus 320. The starting fare for the flight is Rs. 8993 all included. The direct flight will also place TG-coded flight numbers on this route. Emirates Flight Training Academy signs MoU with National Aviation Academy in KSA

Vistara gets govt nod to fly international routes

Vistara has received central government’s approval to launch international flights. Vistara, the joint venture between Tata and Singapore Airlines, is the fifth Indian carrier to ply on international routes. Post the approval, Vistara has sought permission to start operating on Delhi and Colombo route seven days a week. It is believed that Vistara has sought bilateral rights to Sri Lanka and slots from Delhi Airport for the same. The aircraft used for the Delhi-Colombo route would be Airbus A320. Emirates to launch second daily flight to London Stansted

Emirates has announced the launch of a second daily flight from Dubai (DXB) to London Stansted (STN) starting 1st July, 2019. The additional flight means that Emirates customers will now have 11 daily flight options to and from three London airports. Tourism players of Kashmir valley made a request to extend the UDAN (ude desh ka aam nagrik) scheme of the central government to Kashmir region to tackle the skyrocketing air fairs, which hampers the flow of tourists to the state. UDAN (ude desh ka aam nagrik) scheme was launched by the union ministry to make air travel affordable for people through subsidized ticket prices and to provide air connectivity to smaller towns. The long-awaited Bareilly airport building was inaugurated by state civil aviation minister Nand Gopal Nandi and Union minister Santosh Gangwar. Vistara has announced Dibrugarh as its twenty fourth destination in a press release. The carrier will operate its daily direct flights between Dibrugarh and Bagdogra, effective from April 3, 2019 at a starting all-inclusive fare of Rs 2,399. Japan Airlines to start daily Bengaluru-Tokyo service in 2020

Japan Airlines (JAL) said it will launch a new non-stop daily service between Tokyo (Narita) and Bengaluru from 2020. With this service, JAL is introducing the first direct flights to Tokyo from  a South Indian city. JAL, which now has direct flights to Tokyo from New Delhi, is planning to operate flights on the Bengaluru-Tokyo route daily. Etihad to introduce Boeing 787 Dreamliners to Rome and Frankfurt

Etihad Airways will introduce a new two-class Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, the largest variant of the technologically advanced aircraft, on its scheduled daily morning service from Abu Dhabi to Rome, complementing the second overnight 777-300ER departure. On 1 July, the airline will introduce the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on its two daily services to Frankfurt.
