E-buses to roll on Kerala roads

Photo courtesy: Syed Shiyaz Mirza The first electric bus of KSRTC will be launched on 18th June 2018. The trial run will be at Trivandrum for 15 days. Later it will be extended to Kochi and Calicut. Gold Stone Infratech Ltd, Secunderabad is the manufactures of the bus. Their BYD K9 model of the e-bus is opted by KSRTC. It is a 40 seater bus with modern amenities like CCTV camera, GPS and other entertainment facilities. House boat of ‘Spice Routs’ witnessed a varied birthday celebration in the backwaters of Kuttanad on 16th June. Nicole Rene’e Matthews, from Michigan was the birthday girl. Uday Samudra’s Satvic dinner is a hit among YAT delegates

By catering the indigenous tastes of Kerala, Hotel Uday Samudra, Kovalam, delighted the delegates of the Yoga Tour on the second day of the tour. The yogis were taking their dinner, after an eventful day in Kovalam and Kanyakumari. Muthirakkanji, drumstick leaves thoran, vazhachudu mezhukkupuratti, (dish made of plantain stem) pavakka varutharachath (bitter gourd dish) etc. were the main course of dinner. Spectacular yoga demonstration by Yoga Ambassadors at Kovalam

Day two of the yoga tour started with a yoga session at the Leela Raviz Kovalam. All the sixty yoga ambassadors took part in the one hour long morning yoga session.   The session was lead by Dr Arun Tejas of Sri Chithra Institute, Thiruvananthapuram. “I’m following the techniques and asanas as prescribed by the AYUSH ministry’s common yoga protocol,” said Dr Arun after the session. Kerala Tourism has launched a video to greet Islam followers on the occasion of Eid-ul-fitr. The video is aiming to attract travellers to Kerala during the festive season by projecting the festive theme, cuisine and ambiance. Punjab to have Rs 590 crore tourism package

Almost 30 tourist destinations in the states will be enhanced with a cost of Rs 590.97 crores, said Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu. Once the project is completed, Amritsar would be the centre of tourist activity, with its 11 destinations on the list. This will be done with the aid of Asian Development Bank worth Rs 344 Crores. Apart from this Rs. 96.67 Crores will be availed from the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, aiming at revamping religious and historical cities. Emirates enhances Luanda service

Emirates announced that it will reinstate two weekly flights between Luanda and Dubai, increasing capacity to five flights per week between the two cities, starting from 1 July 2018. Customers can look forward to a daily service starting from the winter schedule.
