A total of 39 new domestic services will be operated from Kerala from October, with 23 of them from Thiruvananthapuram airport. The decision came in the wake of a meeting held by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan with CEOs of various airline companies. Pallathuruthi Boat Club, Alappuzha won the 67th Nehru Trophy Boat Race and topped the first round of the Champions Boat League (CBL) here today, as the pioneering three-month sporting event got off to a racy start in the sprawling Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha. Today’s winner, whose CBL name is Tropical Titans, earned nine points, clocking 4.25.83 minutes to cover the distance of 1,050 metres. Travel and tourism generated 10.4 percent of the world’s total economic activity in 2018. According to Gloria Guevara, WTTC’s president, travel and tourism now is responsible for creating one out of every five new jobs worldwide. The tourism department of Kerala has decided to conduct the 67th edition of the Nehru Trophy boat race and the first heats of the Champions Boat League, at Punnamada lake in Alappuzha on August 31, 2019. Strengthening the information network of Kerala Tourism, seven renovated tourism information centres were opened in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi on Tuesday, with Hon.
