Cabinet leases out Thiruvananthapuram and two other airports to Adani Enterprises

The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the proposal for leasing out three airports, Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, to Adani Enterprises that won these in an auction last year. Delhi, Mumbai model development for Trivandrum airport

The Trivandrum International Airport in Kerala, along with five other airports, is to be developed in the lines of the Delhi and Mumbai airports model. The Union Cabinet on Thursday gave an “in principle” approval for operating, managing and developing six non-metro airports — Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Mangaluru — under Public Private Partnership (PPP). This is expected to enhance the revenue to Airports Authority of India (AAI) and increased economic development in these areas in terms of job creation and related infrastructure. “The PPP in airport infrastructure projects has brought World class infrastructure at airports, delivery of efficient and timely ... Air Asia and GoAir to operate from Trivandrum

Happy news for people of Trivandrum!. Budget airlines, AirAsia and GoAir to start operations from Trivandrum. The airlines have expressed interest in starting domestic service from Trivandrum International Airport. Air Asia will start services to Bengaluru, while Go Air will have daily flights to Mumbai. Currently, Air Asia do not have service from Trivandrum. However, they had operated from Trivandrum during the floods, when Kochi International Airport was temporary closed.
