Emirates gives travellers a taste of home this Thanksgiving

Emirates is firing up its ovens for Thanksgiving celebrations on board and on the ground. The airline will offer customers special holiday menus across all classes on flights between Dubai and the US and in the respective airport lounges. WiFi security not a huge concern for most travellers: Study

Almost 25 per cent of travellers say that they are not at all concerned about security when using WiFi in an airport or on a plane, according to a recent survey by the GO Group, LLC, an international ground transportation provider. However, 48 per cent said they were somewhat concerned. New advisory on satellite phone for foreigners travelling to India from UAE

Indian missions in the UAE have announced a total ban on satellite phones while travelling to India. The Indian diplomatic missions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai issued an advisory to foreigners traveling to India, informing them about a ban on satellite phones to the country. The statement, published on all social media channels of the missions, said, “All foreigners who intend to go to India are therefore advised not to carry satellite phones to India.” Violators will face legal consequences. Providers of satellite phone services in the UAE have been advised to inform subscribers about the legal ban, reported Khaleej Times.

Majority of travellers use review sites before booking: Survey

More than three quarters of travellers use review sites such as Yelp and Trip Advisor to conduct research prior to booking services, according to a survey conducted by The GO Group LLC, an international ground transportation provider. More than 150 people responded to the survey, which asked about site usage for accommodations, activities, events and ground transportation. When asked about use of sites for hotels and other accommodations, 13 per cent of respondents said they always check sites; 31 per cent said they do so frequently, 34 per cent said sometimes and 22 per cent said never.
