Plastic ban in Munnar, Devikulam

Plastic waste is a plague on the world, and our holidays are also partially to be blamed in contributing a large chunk of it. Tourism ministry sanctions Rs 80.37 crore for Kerala cruise projects

The Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned the project “Development of Rural Circuit: Malanad Malabar Cruise Tourism Project’ in Kerala under Swadesh Darshan Scheme for Rs 80.37 crores, said Minister of State for Tourism (I/C)  K J Alphos. The project focuses on development of water based thematic cruise experiences in and around Valapattanam and Kuppam Rivers of Kannur District. മധുര പലഹാരങ്ങള്‍ വിറ്റുകിട്ടിയ ആറു ലക്ഷം രൂപ കേരള മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ദുരിതാശ്വാസ നിധിയില്‍ നിക്ഷേപിച്ച് ആന്ധ്രാ പ്രദേശിലെ വ്യാപാരി. കാക്കിനഡയിലെ സുരുചി ഫുഡ്സ് ഉടമ പി മല്ലിബാബുവാണ് ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ വില്‍പ്പനയില്‍ നിന്നുലഭിച്ച വരുമാനം കേരള മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ദുരിതാശ്വാസ നിധിയില്‍ നിക്ഷേപിച്ചത്. മധുരം വാങ്ങൂ കേരളത്തെ സഹായിക്കൂ എന്ന അറിയിപ്പുമായി ഞായറാഴ്ച്ച പ്രത്യേക വില്‍പ്പന ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്ന് മല്ലിബാബു നേരത്തെ അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. വില്‍പ്പനയില്‍ പങ്കാളിയാകാന്‍ പ്രദേശത്തെ ജനപ്രതിനിധികളെയും സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചു. സമീപ വാസികളും മധുരം വാങ്ങാന്‍ കൂടി. 5,91,194 രൂപ വില്‍പ്പനയിലൂടെ ലഭിച്ചു.കാക്കിനഡ അര്‍ബന്‍,റൂറല്‍ എംഎല്‍എമാര്‍ പതിനായിരം രൂപ വീതം നല്‍കി. ഈ സ്ഥാപനത്തിലെ ജീവനക്കാര്‍ അവരുടെ ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ ശമ്പളമായ 25,000 രൂപയും നല്‍കി.ചരക്കു സേവന നികുതി കിഴിച്ച് 6,06,633 ദുരിതാശ്വാസ നിധിയില്‍ ലഭിച്ചു.

Master plan for Kochi airport to meet emergency situations

Kochi airport, the seventh busiest in the country, had been non-functional from August 14 to 28 owing to the devastating flood that shook the entire state between August 8 and 22. The airport authorities had first announced the shuttering of the facility till August 18, which was then extended to August 26 and further to August 29 as water levels continued to rise inundating the runway, the terminals as well as the large solar farm surrounding the airport. The priority of the government after the floods is to restore and rebuild roads and bridges to the major tourist destinations in Kerala, said Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism.  The minister was addressing a gathering at ‘Kaithanginoru Kooppukai’ after felicitating tourism/hospitality professionals who were involved in rescue and relief activities during the flood. Kerala Floods: Rescue workers from tourism sector to be honoured

The Government of Kerala is all set to honour the rescue workers from the tourism field including life guards, who actively participated in the rescue operations during the recent flood that hit the state. Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran will attend the function which is to be held at Kanakakkunnu Palace in Thiruvananthapuram at 4 pm on September 3. Time to rebuild Munnar: Mega cleaning kickstarts

Tourism fraternity reaches out to help the flood victims of Chengannur

Relief efforts are in full swing in different parts of Kerala after the flood waters started receding. Tens of thousands of people are still displaced from their homes. And the tourism fraternity from Trivandrum, the capital of the state which was not affected by the floods, is rushing to the aid of the flood victims. Jatayu Earth’s Centre opens for tourists from today

Jatayu Earth Centre will be open to public from today onwards, said a press statement issued by the authorities. The ticket charge per person is Rs. 400. The tickets are being booked through the website www.jatayuearthscenter.com. “There is a great response to online ticket booking,” said the statement.
