Jamaica to reinstate ties with Japanese tourism market

Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica Tourism Minister will be participating in the Tourism Expo Japan 2018 and Visit Japan Travel & MICE Mart 2018, which happening from 20th to 23rd September 2018 in Tokyo. The ministry plan to strengthen ties with Japan on a sustainable manner and to increase the visitors from Japan to Jamaica. “Twenty years ago, Jamaica received around 20,000 Japanese visitors per year, but that has since decreased to roughly 2,000 per annum, due to the economic slowdown in Japan and other factor,” said Bartlet. Jamaica Tourism spends $33 million on tourist destinations

Jamaica Tourism Minister, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, said the Old Fort Craft Market in Montego Bay will receive upgrades valued at $33 million. The work will be carried out by the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) and will include restoration to the heritage park at a cost of $25 million and improvement of bathroom facilities at a cost of $8 million. Jamaican tourism industry in a forward swing

Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica As per a statement released by the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), the island country’s tourism industry is in a path of growth. The JTB said, Jamaica celebrated an overall market growth of 5.4 per cent for the first six months of the year. Stopover tourist arrivals marked 1.25 million (5.9 per cent more than last year) and cruise arrivals were around one million (4.8 per cent more than last year) The tourism industry earned around USD 1.459 billion from stopover arrivals and USD 100.6 million from cruise tourists. Bahamas to host Caribbean Aviation meet-up

Bahamas, commonly known as an archipelagic state, that consists of over 700 island chains is all set to conduct its 3rd annual Caribbean Aviation meet-up from 24th June at the capital city of Nassau in Bahamas. Pension Scheme for tourism workers by mid -2018

The much awaited Tourism Workers’ Pension Scheme will be up and running by mid-2018, informed the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica.
