Haripurdhar to be developed as tourist destination
The government of Himachal Pradesh is planning to promote tourism at Haripurdhar in Sirmaur district. The state government will request the Central Government to include it under the Swadesh Darshan Programme. The Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur elaborated the governments plans at the closing ceremony of the three-day Mata Bhangayani Mela at Haripurdhar. Thakur said the area had immense tourism potential and basic facilities would be provided to devotees at the Mata Bhangayani temple complex. “With over 90 per cent of the state’s population residing in the rural areas, the government is keen to develop these,” he added. Himachal gets additional ADB loan for tourism projects
Asian Development Bank (ADB) said it will give additional loan for Himachal Pradesh to develop tourism infrastructure in the state. An ADB team led by Country Director Kenichi Yokoyama called on state Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to allocate the second trench of Rs 750 crore loan under the Infrastructure Development Investment Programme for Tourism. The team appreciated the efforts of the state Tourism Department in implementing the phase one under the programme, which will be over by 2020. 3 out of 4 Indians ready to spend on travel: Survey
According to a recent survey by professional online travel search engine ‘Yatra.com’, around 75 per cent of Indian respondents are agreeing to spend nearly Rs 25,000 for a seasonal trip. As per the company, Indians prefer to travel during summer to avoid the wrath of summer heat. Over 75 per cent prefer to travel by air, followed by 90 per cent to rely on Indian Railways. ഹിമാചല്‍ പ്രദേശിലെ വിലകൂടിയ രത്നമെന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ചെറിയ കുന്നുംപ്രദേശം. അതാണ്‌ ധരംശാല. വേനല്‍ക്കാല ടൂറിസത്തിന്‍റെ ഈറ്റില്ലം. ജീവിതത്തില്‍ ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കേണ്ട മനോഹരമായ സ്ഥലം. ടിബറ്റന്‍ ബുദ്ധിസ്റ്റുകള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ താമസിക്കുന്ന പ്രദേശമാണിത്. മലനിരകളുമായി ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതും പച്ചപ്പ് നിറഞ്ഞതുമായ ധരംശാല പ്രകൃതി സൗന്ദര്യം കൊണ്ട് സഞ്ചാരിയെ വീഴ്ത്തുകയും മഞ്ഞു വീഴ്ച കൊണ്ട് അമ്പരപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ ടിബറ്റന്‍ ഭരണപ്രദേശം കൂടിയാണിത്. സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്ന് 1457 മീറ്റര്‍ ഉയരത്തിലാണ് ധരംശാല സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ധൌലധാർ മലനിരകളുടെ ഭാഗമായി കാംഗ്ഡ താഴ്വരയിലാണ് ധരംശാല സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. 1852ൽ കാംഗ്ഡ ജില്ലയുടെ തലസ്ഥാനമായിരുന്നു ധരംശാല. ധരംശാല പട്ടണം രണ്ട് ഭാഗങ്ങളായി തിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അപ്പർ ധരംശാലയും ലോവർ ധരംശാലയും. അപ്പർ ധരംശാല ഇപ്പോഴും ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് കോളനിയെ പോലെയാണ്. ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് വാസ്തുവിദ്യ അതേപടി ഇവിടെ നിലനില്‍ക്കുന്നു. ലോവർ ധരംശാല വ്യവസായിക കേന്ദ്രമാണ്. ഇത് രണ്ടും തമ്മിൽ ഏകദേശം 9 കി.മി ദൂരമുണ്ട്. അപ്പര്‍ ധരംശാലയിലാണ് ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ദലൈ ലാമ താമസിക്കുന്നത്. വേനല്‍ക്കാലത്ത് ധരംശാലയില്‍ ... Shimla gets season’s first snowfall
If you were waiting for that perfect holiday to the hills of Himachal Pradesh amidst snowy landscape, the time has arrived. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand received fresh snowfall on Jan 23. Places near to Shimla like Kufri and Narkanda have also been experiencing snowfall, turning the tourist destinations more picturesque. Temperature in Shimla fell to 2.7 degrees Celsius, after the hilly town recorded mild snowfall, while Kufri and Mashobra recorded moderate snowfall.
