Vistara to start Mumbai-Colombo service from Nov 25

Vistara has announced a six-time-a-week (except Wednesdays) direct service to Colombo, Sri Lanka from Mumbai starting November 25, 2019, onwards, making it the fourth international destination in network. SriLankan to start Colombo-Ahmedabad & Colombo-Calicut route from 2020

SriLankan Airlines will enhance connectivity to India with new flights to Ahmedabad and Calicut. The operations will begin in 2020. The airlines has started operating 4 additional weekly flights connecting Delhi with Colombo from July 4 taking the weekly flights between the two cities to 18 flights. The launch of four more flights to Delhi will see the weekly flights operated by SriLankan Airlines to various cities in India go up to 221 flights a week. Sri Lanka’s terror-hit Shangri-La Hotel reopens

Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo has partially reopened on June 12, seven weeks after the property was attacked by a suicide bomber on Easter Sunday. The Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo was one of three hotels hit by the suicide attacks on April 21 and suffered extensive damages. Sri Lanka cancels on-arrival visa for tourists from 39 countries

UAE, Colombia sign visa waiver

UAE and Colombia have signed an agreement on the mutual exemption of prior visa requirements for ordinary passport holders from both countries. The agreement was signed by H.H. Sri Lanka consider easing visa rules to boost tourism

Colombo, Sri Lanka Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said his government is considering easing the air traffic system including visas for tourists to enhance the island’s tourism industry. IRCTC to launch Ramayana Tourism in November
