“It took us 12 years to build Airbnb, and we lost almost everything in four to six weeks,” the company’s co-founder Brian Chesky has said. The company was preparing to go public this year, and now that is up in the air, he said during an interview to CNBC. Airbnb has collected USD 1 billion in hotel and tourism tax

Airbnb has collected USD 1 billion in hotel and tourism tax (TOT) globally to date. The home-sharing company has established partnerships with more than 400 governments around the world to collect and remit taxes. Bermuda and Airbnb partner to offer seamless vacation experience

Airbnb and the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) have partnered to streamline and enhance the on-island vacation experience. This fall, the BTA will begin marketing the destination across Airbnb’s channels, reaching a vast audience of potential visitors who favour vacation rentals. The Tourism Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme aims to attract a larger global audience and boost tourism in Maharashtra. “After signing an agreement for Tourism Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme with Airbnb last year we already have 500 hosts enrolled on the community-driven hospitality company’s platform generating regular income. Airbnb is planning new ways to get back Puerto Rico on tourist map after hurricanes shattered the island and its tourism. The plan was revealed by Airbnb’s CEO Brian Chesky in an event on Wednesday.
