AccorHotels to open two MGallery hotels in Dubai

MGallery has signed two agreements with Khamas Group of Investments to open MGallery Dubai Business Bay and  MGallery Bur Dubai in Dubai. The 144-room MGallery Dubai Business Bay is scheduled to open in 2021. The hotel will be situated adjacent to the upcoming Marasi Business Bay development. IHCL enters Saudi with first Taj property in Makkah

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) that runs the Taj brand of luxury hotels, entered into Saudi Arabia with a 340-keys property in Makkah. IHCL, in partnership with Umm Al Qura Development and Construction Company, will open the hotel in January 2023 in the tony King Abdul Aziz Road (KAAR) project, one of the largest urban rejuvenation projects in Makkah. Iconic cruise ship Queen Elizabeth II (QE2) is undergoing a major transformation into an epic floating hotel – and will be opening its doors to the Emiratis tomorrow. It spent more than 40 years at sea and arrived in Dubai’s Port Rashid 10 years ago. ARADA, Emaar to launch three new hotels in Sharjah

The agreement was signed by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, chairman of ARADA, Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, vice chairman of ARADA, and Mohamed Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties. Rove opens 5th budget hotel in Dubai

Rove Hotels has launched the 5th property in its budget brand of “lifestyle hotels” in Dubai with rooms under Dh 300 a night. Part of Emaar Hospitality Group, Rove Dubai Marina will be opening its doors on April 7. The rooms will be charged Dh282 per night including taxes in July, and from about Dh400 including taxes at busier times. Radisson aims for 200 hotels in South Asia by 2022

The Radisson Hotel Group has unveiled plans to expand its portfolio to more than 200 hotels in operation and under development by 2022 in South Asia. The group signed the Radisson Blu Resort Visakhapatnam, Radisson Panipat City Centre and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Agra in the first quarter of 2018. Hotel Ashok shuts down

Hotel Ashok in Ranchi has stopped all its operations last Friday. A joint venture between Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the erstwhile Bihar government, the hotel opened in Ranchi in 1988 and had been running at a loss for years. The property has three stakeholders, namely, ITDC (51 per cent), Jharkhand (12.5) and Bihar the rest. Originally, Bihar owned 49 per cent stake but after the formation of Jharkhand, the stakes were split 3:1 following an inter-ministerial meeting under the chairmanship of principal secretary to the Prime Minister in 2004. Marriott opens its 100th hotel in Bengaluru

Marriott International has launched its 100th hotel in India in India’s Silicon Valley, Bengaluru. “With the opening of the 360-room Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel, we have achieved the milestone of 100 hotels in India,” said group President and Chief Executive Officer Arne M Sorenson. The 360-room hotel includes 39 suites and 79 Sheraton Club Rooms, and also home to large meeting and banqueting facilities.
