Dubai Airports welcomes inaugural SaudiGulf flight
Dubai Airports welcomed the inaugural flight of SaudiGulf Airlines at Dubai International’s (DXB) Terminal 1 with a traditional water salute followed by a cake cutting ceremony. SaudiGulf will operate double daily flights between the Saudi capital of Riyadh and Dubai. Riyadh is among the top ten city destinations for DXB in terms of traffic with more than 1.85 million passengers flying between the two cities in 2017.

സൗദിയില്‍ വാഹനമോടിക്കുന്നവര്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ജാഗ്രത പാലിക്കണമെന്ന് ട്രാഫിക് ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റ് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നല്‍കി. ഓട്ടോമാറ്റിക് ക്യാമറ സംവിധാനം തിങ്കളാഴ്ച്ച മുതല്‍ നിലവില്‍ വരുന്നതോടെ വാഹനം ഓടിക്കുന്നവര്‍ സീറ്റ് ബല്‍റ്റ് ധരിക്കാതെയിരുന്നാല്‍ നിയമ ലംഘനം രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് ട്രാഫിക് ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റ് അറിയിച്ചു. വാഹനം ഓടിക്കുന്നതിനിടയില്‍ ശ്രദ്ധ തിരിയുന്ന പ്രവര്‍ത്തികള്‍ അതായത് വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുക, മൊബൈല്‍ ഫോണ്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുക തുടങ്ങിയവ പിഴ ശിക്ഷ ലഭിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണമുള്ളവയാണെന്നും ട്രാഫിക് ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റ് അറിയിച്ചു. വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ രൂപം മാറ്റം വരുന്നതും, മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയാകര്‍ഷിക്കാന്‍ വാഹനങ്ങളില്‍ എഴുതുകയോ സ്‌നാപ് ചാറ്റ് ഐഡി പതിക്കുന്നതും നിയമലംഘനത്തില്‍ പെടും. സിഗ്നല്‍ ചുവപ്പായിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വലത് വശം തിരിഞ്ഞ് പോകാന്‍ അനുമതിയുണ്ട്. റായാദ്, ജിദ്ദ, ദമ്മാം എന്നീ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലാണ് പരീക്ഷണാടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ പദ്ധതി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നതെന്ന് ട്രാഫിക് ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റ് അറിയിച്ചു.

ഡോ. തമദര്‍ ബിന്ത് യൂസഫ്‌ അല്‍ റമ്മ. ചിത്രം: അല്‍ അറേബ്യ റിയാദ്: സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്ക് കൂടുതല്‍ മേഖല തുറന്നിട്ട്‌ സൗദി അറേബ്യയിലെ സല്‍മാന്‍ ബിന്‍ അബ്ദുല്‍ അസീസ്‌ രാജാവ്. തൊഴില്‍ വകുപ്പ് ഉപമന്ത്രിയായി ഡോ. തമദര്‍ ബിന്ത് യൂസഫ്‌ അല്‍ റമ്മയെ നിയമിച്ചു. ഈ വകുപ്പിന്‍റെ ഉന്നത പദവിയിലെത്തുന്ന ആദ്യ വനിതയാണ്‌ അല്‍ റമ്മ. മാഞ്ചസ്റ്റര്‍ സര്‍വകലാശാലയില്‍ നിന്നും റേഡിയോളജി,മെഡിക്കല്‍ എന്‍ജിനീയറിംഗ് ഡോക്ടറേറ്റ് ധാരിയാണ് അല്‍ റമ്മ.കിംഗ് സൗദ് സര്‍വകലാശാലയില്‍ അധ്യാപികയായിരുന്നു പുതിയ ഉപമന്ത്രി. നേരത്തെ യുഎന്‍ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ കമ്മീഷനില്‍ സൌദിയെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് അല്‍ റമ്മ. സൈനിക മേധാവികളെയും സൗദി ഭരണകൂടം മാറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിനിടെ സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കും സൈന്യത്തില്‍ ചേരാമെന്ന സുപ്രധാന പ്രഖ്യാപനവുമായി സൗദി രംഗത്തെത്തി. ആദ്യമായാണ്‌ സൗദി സ്ത്രീകളെ സൈന്യത്തിലെടുക്കുന്നത്. റിയാദ്, മക്ക, ഖ്വാസിം, മദീന എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ താമസിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്ക്സൈനിക തസ്തികയിലേക്ക് അപേക്ഷിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്. 25 നും 35 നും ഇടയില്‍ പ്രായമുള്ള ഹൈസ്‌കൂള്‍ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമുള്ള വനിതകള്‍ക്കാണ് അപേക്ഷിക്കാവുന്നത്.
India is ‘guest of honour’ at Saudi Arabia’s Janadriyah festival
Camel Race India will be the “guest of honour” at Saudi Arabia’s National Festival for Heritage and Culture, popularly known as the Janadriyah festival. The 18-day cultural festival will be held under the patronage of King Salman at Janadriyah, 42 km northeast of Riyadh, will be inaugurated on February 7. Solo Women Travellers above 25 can now travel to Saudi

The good news now is that the government has allowed women aged 25 and over to travel to Saudi without being accompanied by a family member.
