Infosys Foundation to take up restoration of Panchakalyani Lake

Infosys Foundation, the humanitarian wing of Infosys, plans to take up the conservation and restoration of the Panchakalyani, the largest ancient lake in Melukote, in the Mandya district of Karnataka. The Foundation will restore the lake by cleaning the tank, removing silt and waste deposit, ensuring structural and chemical conservation of the Panchakalyani and a nearby tank called the Ganeshan Honda, reconnecting the existing canals and building a compound wall. ‘Akasha Ambari’ receives overwhelming response

Photo Courtesy: Star of Mysore Air India’s Alliance Air has initiated a special flight services “Akasha Ambari” between Bengaluru and Mysuru  during Dasara holidays. S R Mahesh, Tourism Minister, has taken part in the maiden flight from Mysuru to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. The flight service has been envisaged to facilitate travel of national and international tourists for the Dasara festivities. The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) and the State Tourism Department are collaborating with Air India for this initiative. Karnataka strive to be second best tourism hub in the country

S R Mahesh, Tourism and Sericulture Minister of Karnataka said that the state would take all the measures to develop the State as the second best tourist hub of the country. He was speaking after inaugurating Travel log’18, a two-day National Seminar on ‘Tourism and the Digital Transformation,’ organized by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Pooja Bhagavath Memorial Mahajana Education Center at Metagalli in Mysore.
