സന്ദര്‍ശകര്‍ പെരുകി; ബീച്ച് അടച്ചു

സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ പെരുകിയതോടെ രാജ്യത്തെ പ്രശസ്ത ബീച്ച് ഫിലിപ്പൈന്‍സ് അടച്ചു. ഇനി ആറു മാസം ബൊറെക്കെ ബീച്ചിനു വിശ്രമമാണ്. ശ്വാസം വിടാന്‍കഴി കഴിയാത്രത്ത ജനത്തിരക്കും മാലിന്യ നിക്ഷേപവുമായിരുന്നു ബീച്ചില്‍. ഫിലിപ്പൈന്‍സ് പ്രസിഡന്റിന്‍റെ നിര്‍ദേശ പ്രകാരമാണ് ബീച്ച് അടച്ചത്. കടലോരത്ത് കുളിച്ചും പഞ്ചാര മണലില്‍ വിശ്രമിച്ചും കഴിഞ്ഞ സഞ്ചാരികളെയോക്കെ ബീച്ചില്‍ നിന്ന് ഒഴിപ്പിച്ചു. ശാന്തമായിരുന്ന ബീച്ച് ഇപ്പോള്‍ യുദ്ധ സമാനമായ അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിലാണ്. തലങ്ങും വിലങ്ങും പൊലീസുകാര്‍ മാത്രം. ബീച്ചില്‍ കടകള്‍ തുറക്കാന്‍ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ സഞ്ചാരികളെ ഇവിടേക്ക് കടത്തിവിടുന്നില്ല. 40,000 പേര്‍ താമസിക്കുന്ന ദ്വീപിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചറിയല്‍ കാര്‍ഡുള്ള നാട്ടുകാരെ മാത്രമേ കടത്തിവിടുന്നുള്ളൂ. ബീച്ചിനു മൂന്നു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൂര പരിധിയില്‍ കടലില്‍ ബോട്ടുകള്‍ക്ക് വിലക്കാണ്. മീന്‍ പിടിക്കാനും നാട്ടുകാര്‍ക്കേ അനുമതിയുള്ളൂ. ചൈന, കൊറിയ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള സഞ്ചാരികളാണ് ബൊറെക്കെയില്‍ എത്തുന്നവരില്‍ അധികവും. തീരങ്ങളില്‍ അനധികൃത കയ്യേറ്റം വ്യാപകമാണ്. ചിലേടങ്ങളില്‍ ഒഴിഞ്ഞ കുപ്പികള്‍ കൂടിക്കിടന്നു മലകള്‍ തീര്‍ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.ഇത്തരം സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് ബീച്ച് അടക്കുന്നത്. ലിയാനാര്‍ഡോ ഡി കാപ്രിയോ നായകനായ ... Philippine Airlines appoints Bird Group its representative in India

Philippine Airlines (PAL), the flag carrier of Philippines, has appointed Bird Travels Private Ltd, the Airline Management Services arm of Bird Group, as its local representative in India. The association marks the airline’s latest step in developing its sales distribution network within the Indian market. Earthquake of magnitude 6.2 strikes Philippines

File photo An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 strikes the island of Mindanao in Philippines. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage from the quake, which hit at a depth of 61 km (38 miles), about 128 km (80 miles) east of the island’s key city of Davao.  

Philippines to shutdown Boracay resort

The Philippines government led by President Rodrigo Duterte ordered, that the beach resort at Boracay will be closed for over 6 months for the tourist. The new move is as part of cleaning the beach from sewage and waste accumulation. “It’s a shame that Boracay, which has repeatedly been recognised by prestigious travel magazines as the world’s most beautiful island, may yet end up a paradise lost if water contamination continues,” said Wanda Teo, Tourism Secretary, Philippines. Around one million visitors – both domestic and foreign tourists- visited the Walled City of Intramuros during the Holy Week. The Department of Tourism, Philippines and its attached agency the Intramuros Administration (IA), had arranged a series of events to promote the Walled City as a holistic faith destination in Metro Manila. “For a predominantly Catholic country like the Philippines, the Holy Week or Lenten season is a perfect time to reflect, repent and travel. Film tourism becomes growing interest in Philippines

Film tourism in the Philippines is gaining popularity as it creates significant impact in connecting audiences to destinations used as film locations. Realising the potential of film tourism, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), an attached agency of the Department of Tourism (DOT), launched Cine Turismo, a new campaign which seeks to promote Philippine destinations through films. 9 dead as small plane slams into house in Philippines

A small passenger plane carrying five people crashed into a house in Manila, Philippines, killing all those onboard and 4 people on the ground. The Piper-23 Apache plane took off from the airport in Plaridel town in Bulacan province, crash-landed and smashed into a house. The aircraft was operated by Lite Air Express. The flight was bound for northern Laoag city.

Chinese to come in droves with new air routes to PHL
