Jammu to host India Travel Mart from 16th November

The three day event is organized in association with the Jammu and Kashmir tourism department. The event is taking place at Hotel Ramada, Jammu City Centre, Gulab Singh Marg, Near Exhibition Ground, Jammu. Several state tourism boards, travel operators, agents, travel portals, hotels and resorts will participate in the event. Jammu and Kashmir set to launch tourism campaign

Photo Courtesy: J&K Tourism The state tourism department is planning to conduct country-wide promotional campaign to attract more tourists to the Jammu and Kashmir. The department said it will also focus on attracting foreign tourists from Southeast Asian countries and Bangladesh, from where the footfall has witnessed a steep rise in the recent past. Jammu and Kashmir to organize tourism festival

Dal Lake Officers from the tourism sector have conducted a meeting on 31st July 2018, which was chaired by Rigzin Sampheal, Tourism Secretary. The agenda of the meeting was to plan the tourism festival to be conducted in the Jammu and Kashmir. Director Tourism Kashmir Tasaduq Jeelani, Director Finance Lateef Poswal, Director Planning Tourism Parvez Sajad Kakroo, Additional Secretary Tourism Gulzar Ahmed, Joint Director Tourism Jammu Showkat Mehmood and other concerned officers of the department attended the meeting. Access to forbidden areas likely for foreign tourists except from Pak, China

Foreign tourists, except those from Pakistan and China, may soon be allowed to visit some of the most pristine locations of the country, kept out of bound so far for them without a special permit. The Union home ministry is examining whether to relax the six-decade-old Restricted Area Permit regime, under which foreigners must obtain a special permission to visit Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir among others. “Discussions are on with the state governments to relax the Restricted Area Permit provisions for some areas for foreign tourists,” said Union Minister of ...
