India makes e-visas available to Saudi nationals; Kerala pin hopes on Saudi tourist inflow

All applicants will need are valid identification documents, like passports, and a debit or credit card with which to pay the e-visa fee. E-visa application confirmations will be filed within a 24-hour period of submission, approval granted within 72 hours, and the visa will be valid for one year. Kazakhstan offers e-visas to tourists from 117 countries, including India

Kazakhstan is not usually the first destination that comes to a conventional traveller when they plan their trips. But, here’s some good news to make it in your bucket list. Kazakhstan has introduced a single-entry electronic visa for citizens of 117 countries. An electronic business or tourist visa or one for medical treatment will be issued to travellers from all these countries including India. Saudi Arabia opens e-visa for tourists

Photo Courtesy: SeeSaudi With an aim to boost tourism sector and increase tourist footfalls, Saudi Arabia has decided to open e-visa to its visitors. The service will be available to citizens of USA, Australia, Japan, South Korea, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and all Schengen Area countries. “Its holders could travel throughout the whole desert country except for the holy cities of Mecca and Medina,” said Prince Abdul Aziz, a member of the Royal House of Saudi. India extends e-visa facility for citizens of 165 countries

As part the efforts to bring more tourists to the country, the government has extended e-visa facility for citizens of 165 countries. The e-visa facility is available at 25 airports and five seaports. It was informed by K J Alphons, Tourism minister, in the Lok Sabha. “Government has launched the ‘Incredible India 2.0’ campaign, indicating a shift from generic promotions to market-specific promotional plans. A 24X7 toll free multi-lingual tourist helpline has also been put in place as part of the efforts” added Alphons. Ethiopia eases visa services to boost tourism

E-visa services for the foreign tourists have been launched by Ethiopian immigration authorities and Ethiopian Airlines. The new online visa application and issuance came to effect by June 1st. This online system will help the foreign tourists to apply and process their visa on a single page, with the option to pay and get their visa entry online. The applicants will receive and e-mail authorizing their travel to Ethiopia, once the application is approved. The visa will be stamped on their passport upon arrival in Addis Ababa. Government draws Rs 1,400 revenue from e-visas

According to a senior home ministry official, the government has received Rs 1,400 crore as revenue from the e-visa scheme. Since its inception of e-visa in 2014, the tourists from 163 countries are benefited from the scheme. The e-visa has been instrumental in boosting the tourism sector of India. It is evident from the fact that 19 lakh tourists used the e-visa facility to visit India last year. The government expects that the tourist arrivals will be more than 25 lakh this year. Visitors can apply and pay online to get an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) within 72 hours. These e-visa will be valid for 30 days and a tourist can avail this facility twice a year.
