West Bengal plans to appoint Tourism Consultants

Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkatta West Bengal Tourism Department is planning to appoint a consultant to provide detailed report on how to develop tourism infrastructure in the state. As per sources, Chief Minister Mamta Banarjee wanted to showcase West Bengal as one of the world class tourism destination. The government also envisages generation of employment opportunities in the tourism sector. Israel opens visa centre in Calcutta

Looking at the increase in number of tourists, the Israel embassy has opened a visa application centre in Calcutta. The centre, housed on the seventh floor of Acropolis Mall, will cater to Bengal and the Northeast. “Residents of Calcutta and the Northeast will no longer have to send their documents to Delhi,” said Hassan Madah, Director, Israel Ministry of Tourism, India and Philippines.
