Andhra Pradesh to host F1H20 World Championship

Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA) to host Formula 1 Motorboat Racing in river Krishna near the green field capital city of Amaravati. The global sporting event, F1H20 World Championship, is coming back to India after a long gap of 14 years. The prestigious racing extravaganza will take place from November 16 to 18. Andhra Pradesh envisages community based tourism projects

Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) is planning to enhance community based tourism in the capital city, Amaravati. Under this project the residents of a region invite tourists to visit their communities and provide them with overnight accommodation. APCRDA also plans to have feasible tourism projects in the region; in public sector and also private-public partnership (PPP). “The master plan will be drafted with the aim to promote community-based tourism. Twenty six cities to be developed under PRASHAD scheme

International power boat racing tournament in Amaravati

Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh to conduct International power boat racing championship in Krishna River in November. The event will be conducted on November 9, 10, and 11. Nine teams and 19 drivers from 12 countries will contest in the championship along with team Amaravati. Amaravati to get a Rs 115 crore tourism push

The Andhra Pradesh government is planning for a Rs 115 crore tourism development in Amaravati. Amaravati Development Corporation Ltd (ADCL) is asked to identify private firms for development of two family entertainment centres (FECs) for Rs 30 crore each, one sports and recreation club for Rs 25 crore, and a resort for Rs 30 crore. One of the family entertainment centres will come up in Sakhamuru village in two acres, and the other will be built in another two acres at Inavolu village. AP’s Kondaveedu fort to be developed into hill station

Government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to develop the historic Kondaveedu fort close to the new state capital Amaravati, into a hill station with a resort. The authorities are expecting a significant increase in the tourist footfalls in the coming years and are launching the developmental activities soon. A host of projects would be taken up by the tourism, endowments, archaeology, roads and buildings and electricity departments.
