World champions to participate in Kayaking Championship
Coming out from the grip of Nipah infection, Kozhikode will host the 6th edition of Malabar River Festival (MRF) in which Olympians, world champions and top athletes of the Indian kayaking community will display their dexterous paddling expertise to vie for top honours and handsome cash prizes. മലബാര്‍ കയാക്കിങ് ലോക ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ് ജൂലൈ 18ന് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു
ജൂലൈ 18നാരംഭിക്കുന്ന മലബാര്‍ കയാക്കിങ് ലോക ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പിന്റെ പ്രാഥമിക പ്രാദേശികതല പ്രചാരണ പരിപാടികള്‍ ജൂലൈ ഒന്നിന് ആരംഭിക്കും. ജോര്‍ജ് എം.തോമസ് എംഎല്‍എയുടെ അധ്യക്ഷതയില്‍ കോടഞ്ചേരിയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന യോഗത്തിലാണ് തീരുമാനം. നിപ്പ വൈറസിനെ ചെറുത്തുതോല്‍പ്പിച്ച കോഴിക്കോടിന്റെ നിശ്ചയദാര്‍ഢ്യത്തെ സ്മരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഇത്തവണ ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്. ആറാം തവണ നടക്കുന്ന ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ് ഇത്തവണ രാജ്യാന്തര മത്സരമായാണ് നടത്തുന്നത്. കോടഞ്ചരി, തിരുവമ്പാടി, ചക്കിട്ടപ്പാറ പഞ്ചായത്തുകളിലായാണ് മത്സരങ്ങള്‍. പരിപാടിയുടെ പ്രചാരണത്തിന് ജൂലൈ ഒന്നിന് വൈകിട്ട്, കൊളുത്തിയ മെഴുകുതിരികളുമേന്തിയുള്ള നടത്തം ഉണ്ടാകും. ടഗോര്‍ സെന്റിനറി ഹാള്‍ പരിസരത്തുനിന്ന് ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന നടത്തം ബീച്ചില്‍ സമാപിക്കും. കോഴിക്കോട്ടുനിന്നു തുഷാരഗിരിയിലേക്ക് എട്ടിനു ബുള്ളറ്റ് റൈഡും 15ന് സൈക്ലിങ്ങും സംഘടിപ്പിക്കും. പ്രാദേശിക തലത്തില്‍ വിപുലമായ പരിപാടികളും നടത്തും. ഇതിനായി വിവിധ കമ്മിറ്റികളും രൂപീകരിച്ചു. 29ന് കോടഞ്ചേരിയില്‍ മൗണ്ടെയ്ന്‍ ടെറൈന്‍ ബൈക്കിങ് ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പും ഒന്‍പതു മുതല്‍ 12 വരെ മലബാര്‍ ഓഫ്റോഡ് ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പും സംഘടിപ്പിക്കും. കലക്ടര്‍ യു.വി.ജോസ്, കോടഞ്ചേരി പഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡന്റ് അന്നക്കുട്ടി ദേവസ്യ, തിരുവമ്പാടി പഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ... World Kayak Championship at Thusharagiri from July 18
The next edition of the Malabar Kayaking Championship will be held at Meenthullipara, Pulikkayam and Arippara in Kerala’s Calicut district from July 18 to 22. The championship is being organised by the District Tourism Promotion Council, Kozhikode District Panchayat, Thiruvambadi and Kodencherry panchayats and Madras Fun Tools. Two-time world extreme kayaking champion Joe Morley from the United Kingdom, 2012 London Olympics finalist Mike Dawson from New Zealand and noted kayaker from Italy Max Benetton were the big names featured in the previous years.
