Qatar Airways Cargo has come forward to help to the flood ridden state of Kerala by announcing to deliver urgent relief aid. ഇന്നു കൊച്ചി മെട്രോയില്‍ എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും സൗജന്യ യാത്ര. രാവിലെ ആറിനു സര്‍വീസ് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നതു മുതല്‍ രാത്രി 10ന് അവസാനിക്കുന്നതുവരെ ആര്‍ക്കും എത്ര തവണയും യാത്ര സൗജന്യം. ഒരു വര്‍ഷം മുന്‍പ് ഇതേ ദിവസമാണു വാണിജ്യാടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ മെട്രോ സര്‍വീസ് ആരംഭിച്ചത്. യാത്രക്കാരുടെ തിരക്കു നിയന്ത്രിക്കാന്‍ ആവശ്യമായ ക്രമീകരണങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നു കെഎംആര്‍എല്‍ അധികൃതര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. പിറന്നാളാഘോഷത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി മെട്രോയുടെ മുട്ടം യാഡില്‍ വൃക്ഷത്തൈകള്‍ നടുന്ന ക്യാംപയില്‍ ആരംഭിച്ചു. മുട്ടം യാഡിലെ 519 ജീവനക്കാരും സ്വന്തം പേരില്‍ ഓരോ തൈനടുകയും അതു പരിപാലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. പിറന്നാള്‍ ദിനമായ 17നു മെട്രോയില്‍ വന്‍ തിരക്കായിരുന്നു. സാധാരണ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ 35,000 യാത്രക്കാരാണുള്ളതെങ്കില്‍ 17ന് 62000 പേര്‍ യാത്ര ചെയ്തു. 21 ലക്ഷം രൂപ ടിക്കറ്റ് വരുമാനം. സാധാരണ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ഇത് 12 മുതല്‍ 15 ലക്ഷം വരെയാണ്. അവധിക്കാലത്ത് ഒരു ദിനം ശരാശരി 53,000 യാത്രക്കാര്‍ വരെ മെട്രോയില്‍ യാത്ര ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
