Fiji to enhance infrastructure to boost tourism

Fiji is aiming at enhancing its infrastructure to improve tourism in the country. It also plans to increase export to Australia. As per Faiyaz Siddiq Koya, Fijian minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources, Fiji is expanding infrastructure to boost tourism. Fiji raises tourism standards to attract more visitors

The Fijian government has pledged to raise its tourism standards to increase visitor arrivals and foreign exchange earnings. “47 per cent of the Fijian government’s allocation of 99.3 million Fijian dollars (about 47.2 million U S dollars) announced in the 2018-2019 National Budget for Fiji’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, was allocated to the tourism sector to foster sustainable development,” said Jioji Konrote, President of Fiji while addressing the new Rosie Holidays Event in Fiji’s third largest city of Nadi. “The government is constantly engaging with Fijian industry stakeholders, including Fiji Airways, to have more source markets for tourism arrivals. Fiji, Alaska Airlines expand partnership

Fiji Airways and Alaska Airlines have expanded their current partnership by signing a codeshare agreement on flights from San Francisco to two popular US cities. The codeshare agreement enables Fiji Airways to place its “FJ” code on Alaska Airlines’ flights from SFO to Seattle (SEA) and Portland (PDX), offering Fiji Airways guests seamless connections to these cities via San Francisco, and vice-versa for Alaska Airlines’ guests. The codeshare flights will be available for sale from March 5th 2018.
