തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടിൽ വരും വർഷം മുതൽ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്കിനു സമ്പൂർണ നിരോധനം. പാൽ, തൈര്, എണ്ണ,മരുന്ന് തുടങ്ങിയവയെ നിരോധനത്തിൽ നിന്നൊഴിവാക്കി.മറ്റു പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങളുടെ ഉൽപ്പാദനവും വിപണനവും സംസ്ഥാനത്തു നിരോധിച്ചതായി മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി എടപ്പാടി പളനി സ്വാമി അറിയിച്ചു. 2019 ജനുവരി 1 മുതലാകും നിരോധനം. ലോക പരിസ്ഥിതി ദിനത്തോട് അനുബന്ധിച്ചു ചട്ടം 110 പ്രകാരം നിയമസഭയിൽ നടത്തിയ പ്രസ്താവനയിലാണ് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഇക്കാര്യം അറിയിച്ചത്. നിരോധനത്തിന് ജനങ്ങളുടെയും വ്യാപാരികളുടെയും പിന്തുണ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പളനിസ്വാമി അഭ്യർത്ഥിച്ചു. പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് മലിനീകരണം ഗൗരവമേറിയ പ്രശ്നമാണെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. ഭൂമിയിൽ കെട്ടിക്കിടക്കുന്ന പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഭൂഗർഭ ജല സ്രോതസുകൾ അടയ്ക്കുകയും മലിനമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതായും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി നിയമസഭയെ അറിയിച്ചു.

The four-day annual summer festival in Yercaud is slated to begin on May 12. Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami, will inaugurate the event. The horticulture department is taking all measures and have begun to decorate the flowers of various varieties for the flower show. The department has already procured eye catching colourful flowers from various parts of the state and also from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
