KSRTC’s Tent Stay at Munnar

KSRTC launches tent stay scheme in Munnar to increase non-ticket revenue. The plan is to provide convenient and safe tents on a daily rental basis for tourists visiting Munnar. Apart from the bus station, it will be set up on 3.50 acres of KSRTC’s land in Munnar. A letter of interest has been invited for this. “Kodikuthimala” Tourism Center opened

After a long time, the Kodikuthimala Eco-Tourism Center under the control of the Forest Department was opened to the public. Admission for tourists will be subject to strict restrictions. More tourists to Munnar: Large crowds are likely during the Onam holidays

The number of trips to Munnar during the holidays is increasing exponentially. Lots of visitors came on Saturdays and Sundays. More crowd was noted in Mattupetty, Kundala, Anairangal, and Echo Point under the Electricity Board. The number of tourists increased in Rajamalai and Flower Garden under the control of the Forest Department. The number of visitors from outside the state is low. But more people began to arrive from other districts. On Saturday alone, the Electricity Board received Rs 80,000 from Munnar. As more people arrived on Sunday, the revenue was Rs 150,000. Good news for travelers! No need special permission to go to protected areas in Ladakh!

The Union Territory of Ladakh has lifted the terms of its Inner Line Permit to attract more domestic tourists. Indian tourists no longer need special permits to enter here. An Inner Line Permit is prior permission to visit protected areas along the China-Pakistan border. In a notification issued yesterday, the Ladakh UT Home Department completely removed the requirement for ILP to visit notified protected areas for Indian citizens, including domestic tourists and local residents. Although the covid threat is not over, Tourism centers in the Kottayam district are ready to welcome tourists. Allowed access to tourist attractions such as Kumarakom, Aruvikuzhi Falls, Illikkal Kal, Erumeli Pilgrim Center, and Vagamon. The vaccination was completed by including those working in the tourism sector in the priority list. Resorts, houseboats, Aruvikkuzhi, and open space were all disinfected. Chembra Peak will open tomorrow

The main eco-tourism hub in Wayanad district, Chembra Peak will open on Monday. Passenger entry will be subject to covid restrictions. The Trekking hours will be from 7 am to 12 pm and visitation times are from 7 am to 3 p.m. Meppadi Range Forest Officer M.K. Samir said. Punalur suspension bridge not open; Disappointed travelers

The suspension bridge at Punalur, a historical monument has not been opened, despite the opening of tourist attractions due to the reduction of restrictions by the covid. Many tourist places in the eastern region such as Thenmala Ecotourism, Senthuruni and Palaruvi have opened in recent days. The authorities in Punalur also said that permission has not been granted to open the suspension bridge under the control of the Archaeological Department. Ministry of Tourism has already launched certificate programme of Incredible India Tourist Facilitator/ Incredible India Tourist Guide (IITF/IITG), which is a digital initiative that aims at creating an Online learning platform with the objective of creating a pool of well trained and professional Tourist Facilitators across the country. Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), which is an autonomous institute of the Ministry, is the implementing agency for this programme.
