Uzbekistan to introduce attractive incentive scheme for film tourism in 2020

With an aim to encourage more Indian film productions to shoot in its scenic and historic locations, the Central Asian Republic of Uzbekistan is planning to roll out an attractive incentive scheme next year. “There will be 20 per cent capital subsidy available for film production units interested to shoot films in Uzbekistan from 2020. India and Uzbekistan sign 17 agreements for mutual cooperation

India and Usbekistan signed 17 agreements for cooperation in various sectors, including tourism, visa free travel for diplomats, national security, training of diplomats and human trafficking The agreements were signed during the visit of the Usbekistan’s Presiden Shavkat Mirziyoyev in New Delhi on Monday, 1st October 2018. The agreements signed between the two countries include cooperation on agricultural and related sectors, science and technology, military education and in health and medical science sector. Kyrgyzstan employs Tourist Police to tighten security of tourists

Following the steps of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan said it has decided to employ special police force to provide security for tourists who visit the nation. Zamirbek Soltongeldiev, an official in Kyrgyzstan’s Interior Ministry, informed that the “tourist police” will be formed by the end of 2018. “Positions in the new police unit will be available after structural changes within the police force. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of foreign languages,” Soltongeldiev said. Uzbekistan introduces e-visas for 51 countries, including India

Uzbekistan will start issuing an electronic visa for citizens of 51 countries, including India, from July 15. It also announced a 5-day visa-free transit regime for 101 countries. An electronic visa will be issued for a period of 30 days in the territory of Uzbekistan with a single entry. The issued electronic visa will be valid for 90 days from the date of its issuance. The time for consideration of applications for registration and issuance of an electronic visa is two working days, excluding the day the application was filed.
