Tanzania to launch direct flight connectivity with India

Government of Tanzania is planning to launch direct flight service thrice a week connecting India and Tanzania starting December 2018. “This will improve tourism, people-to-people connectivity and bilateral trade. Tanzania expects 2 million tourists by 2020; Conducts roadshow in Delhi

With an aim to position Tanzania as a favourite destination in India, the Tanzania Tourist Board organised a roadshow in New Delhi to showcase its diverse tourism offerings. “Tourism is the number one foreign currency earner in Tanzania. The total contribution of travel and tourism to GDP is 17.2 per cent and is forecast to rise by 6.6 per cent in 2025. Tanzania to promote nature-based tourism

Stream in Amani Nature Reserve Tanzanian tourism is planning to explore the possibilities of nature-based tourism in the east African nation’s forest reserves. “The project will enrich the country’s tourism sector and open up more unexplored investment opportunities, which in turn will also enhance the conservation activities,” said Dos Santos Silayo, CEO of the Tanzania Forest Services. “We have a number of nature reserves with its inimitable tourist destinations; but they’re yet to be explored to its maximum. Air Tanzania plans direct flight to Mumbai by year end

Air Tanzania is all set to introduce direct flight connectivity between Mumbai and Julius Nyerere by year end. The airline is planning to begin its international operations through this service, said Baraka H Luvanda, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania. The flight, proposed to operate thrice a week,  is waiting for permissions from the government to complete the formalities of launching its first international route. “This new flight will not only assist the tourism industry, but will also be helpful for other industries to speed up their businesses in both countries,” he said. Tanzania to promote beach tourism

Hamisi Kigwangalla, Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, said, “Beach tourism is not being promoted on mainland Tanzania with its abundant potential.” He was talking in a news conference in the commercial capital Dar es Salaam. Tanzania starts verifying licenses for tourism businesses

The rock restaurant Tanzanian authorities said they have started verifying registration certificates and licenses of firms that are engaged in tourism businesses in the east African nation. “The move is aimed at identifying and removing all unregistered and unlicensed firms from doing the tourism business,” said Gaudence Milanzi, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism. “Unregistered and unlicensed firms had been linked to incidences of fraud including conning and causing unnecessary inconveniences to tourists.
