Egypt’s seaside resorts to buzz from today, as international flights resume

Egypt has announced it will reopen its seaside resorts from today. The areas opening up are southern Sinai, where the resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh and Dahab are located, Red Sea province, home to the Hurghada and Marsa Alam resorts, and Marsa Matrouh on the Mediterranean. The cabinet has said that international flights will be allowed to enter the country from July 1, while foreign tourists will be permitted at the resorts least affected by Covid-19. No visa fees to enter Egypt’s select provinces, till October 31

Egypt’s tourism ministry is scrapping tourist visa fees for the governorates of South Sinai, Marsa Matrouh and the Red Sea until October 31, in a move meant to encourage tourists back to the country. Khaled El Enani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, stated that the Ministry of Interior has issued a new decision to abolish the fees for all citizens visiting Egypt in only the three governorates mentioned above. Egypt opens 4000 year old tomb for tourists

Tomb of Mehu Egypt has allowed the public to visit a 4000-year old tomb in the Saqqara necropolis near Giza on Sunday, 9th September, for the first time, as part of tourism promotion. Egypt launches digital Instagram channel to promote tourism

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism has recently launched a digital TV channel on Instagram’s view-platform IGTV, with an aim to attract tourists to Egypt through online marketing. Three lakh foreign tourists visited Red Sea during June

Around 387,000 tourists visited Red Sea in June this year, in which 300,000 were foreign tourists, according to the Red Sea governorate’s statistics. German tourists recorded the highest number among other nationalities with 110,655 tourists. Egyptians came second with 82,640. Czech tourists came third with 27,852 visitors, while the British came fourth with 22,527 and the Polish ranks fifth with 20,238 tourists. Egypt tourism revenues achieve huge growth in first quarter

Egypt’s tourist sector achieved humongous growth as the revenue for first quarter touched $2.2 billion, recording a rise of 83.3 per cent. The report also reveals that the Arab nation had a tourist footfall of almost 2.383 million tourists, recording an increase in visitors by 37.1 per cent. The report also suggests that tourist nights reached $23.8 million in the same period. As per the report of Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the country has received around 7,30,000 tourists in February 2018, registering a 35 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
