Shrine Board considering to limit Amarnath Yatra to 30 days
The holy annual Amarnath Yatra has been suspended on Baltal route due to inclement weather conditions. The route of Amarnath Yatra from Baltal has become slippery and muddy due to continuous rain last night. The yatra on Phalgam route, however, is unaffected and is going on as per schedule. An organization providing free food, night shelter and blankets to the Amarnath yatra pilgrims suggested to Shrine board headed by Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra, the Shri Amarnathji Barfani Langer Organisation, to limit the annual pilgrimage to 30 days. ജമ്മുകശ്മീരില്‍ പ്രളയമുണ്ടാവാനുള്ള സാധ്യത കണക്കിലെടുത്ത് പഹല്‍ഗാം റൂട്ടിലൂടെയുള്ള അമര്‍നാഥ് യാത്ര റദ്ദ്‌ചെയ്തു. ശക്തമായ മഴയ്ക്ക് സാധ്യയുള്ളതിനാല് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ബല്‍ത്താര്‍ മാര്‍ഗ്ഗമുള്ള യാത്രയും റദ്ദ് ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. Amarnath Yatra temporarily suspended due to rain

It is reported that only 1,007 pilgrims could pay obeisance to the naturally formed ice-lingam at the holy cave shrine. It is also reported that around 1,735 pilgrims are stranded at the Nunwan base camp. The yatra was earlier suspended on Thursday, when intermittent rains forced authorities to suspend the yatra briefly on the Baltal route and ask pilgrims to stay put at the Domel camp.
