UK closes travel corridors from Monday

From Monday 18 January, all international arrivals to Scotland and England (including UK nationals) are required to present a negative COVID-19 test taken up to 3 days prior to departure, and provide evidence of a negative result before they travel. This is to help protect against new strains of coronavirus circulating internationally. Passengers will be subject to an immediate fine of £500 if they fail to comply with the new regulations on pre-departure testing. France plans to reopen border with Britain for COVID-negative travellers

France has announced its plan to reopen its borders to passengers from England, ending a blockade intended to stop the spread of a new coronavirus variant, but which has held up thousands of trucks before Christmas. Tourist Tax by UK provides yet another competitive advantage to EU rivals says Heathrow

Passenger numbers at Heathrow fell by 88% in November, as travel restrictions and a second lockdown took their toll. Based on current forecasts and the continued decline in passengers, the decision has been taken for Terminal 4 to remain non-operational until the end of 2021. UK Government’s move to bring down quarantine to 5 Days hailed by Trade

The UK government’s latest move that will slash the travel quarantine lockdown if passengers test negative on the fifth day will provide a much-needed economic boost and is a step towards reviving international travel, says the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
