Narthaki Natraj – the first trans person to get ‘Padma Award’
Narthaki Natraj, a renowned dancer from Tamil Nadu has become the first person from the trans community to be honoured with one of the top civilian awards in India. The 54-year-old Bharatanatyam exponent was among those bestowed with ‘Padma Shri’, the third highest civilian award this year. The award was announced on the occasion of the nation’s 70th Republic Day on 26th January 2019. Angela Ponce, the first transgender contestant in Miss Universe
For the first time in the history of Miss Universe, a transgender competed for the title. Miss Spain, Angela Ponce was the first transgender woman among the other 93 contestants in the 2018 event. Although she did not make the top 20, Ponce said she was already a winner. She came for the competition after got crowned Miss Universe Spain for 2018. During the coronation night, the beauty pageant organization paid tribute to Angela with a video recognition. ഉത്തരവാദിത്ത ടൂറിസത്തിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി കേരളത്തിലെ എല്ലാ ജില്ലകളിലും 1000 ടൂറിസം റിസോഴ്സ് പേഴ്സണ്‍സിനെ നിയമിക്കുന്നു. ജില്ലകള്‍ തോറും ടൂറിസം ഗ്രാമസഭകള്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച് വിനോദസഞ്ചാര മേഖലകളെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് പുതിയ നിയനമങ്ങള്‍കൊണ്ട് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. സര്‍ക്കാരിന്‍റെ ട്രാന്‍സ്ജെന്‍റര്‍ പോളിസിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി 14 ജില്ലകളിലും ഓരോ ട്രാന്‍സ്ജെന്‍ററേയും കൂടെ രണ്ട് ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാരെയും റിസോഴ്സ് പേഴ്സണ്‍ ആയി നിയമിക്കും. ട്രാന്‍സ്ജെന്‍റര്‍ സമൂഹത്തിലുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് ജോലിയ്ക്ക് അപേക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ പ്രത്യേക യോഗ്യതയോ പ്രവൃത്തി പരിചയമോ ആവിശ്യമില്ല. പ്ലസ്‌ടു അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ പ്രീഡിഗ്രി പാസായാല്‍ മതി. 1000 റിസോര്‍സ് പേഴ്സണുകളെ നിയമിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ നാലു വര്‍ഷം കൊണ്ട് കേരളത്തില്‍ എത്തുന്ന വിദേശ ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ എണ്ണത്തില്‍ 100 ശതമാനം വര്‍ധനവും ആഭ്യന്തര ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ എണ്ണത്തില്‍ 50 ശതമാനം വര്‍ധനവുമാണ് ടൂറിസം വകുപ്പ് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് കേരള ടൂറിസം ഡയറക്ടര്‍ പി ബാലകിരണ്‍ ഐഎഎസ് പറഞ്ഞു. തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് മെയ്‌ മൂന്നിന് തിരുവനന്തപുരം, കോട്ടയം, എറണാകുളം, വയനാട്, കോഴിക്കോട് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ ട്രെയിനിംഗ് കൊടുക്കും. ടൂറുകള്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കാനും മറ്റും വരും നാളുകളില്‍ 1000 ...
