North-East India: For the Immersive Traveller

To showcase the north-east region of India, which is a largely unexplored destination for both domestic and foreign travellers, the Ministry of Tourism’s Dekho Apna Desh webinar “Northeast India for the immersive traveller” offered an attractive virtual tour to four north-eastern states namely Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Sikkim. Nagaland closes borders even for domestic tourists

The Nagaland government has ordered an indefinite ban on the entry of both domestic and foreign tourists into the state, to check the spread of the corona virus. Nagaland has become the first state in India to take such a drastic step. The order issued by Nagaland chief secretary Temjen Roy has said such a step was taken as a “measure of abundant caution in the interest of the public”. One-day workshop for tourist guides in Kohima

Nagaland Tourism Department has organized a one-day workshop on “Tour guide” in Kohima on June 25. Fifty-three tour guides from all over Nagaland have participated in the event. Neteno Yhoshu,Ddirectorate of Tourism stated in a press release that, the first resource person Richard Belho, architect from ‘Zynorique Initiatives ’ spoke about the career prospects in the tourism industry. Discussing the economic system, he stated that Nagas needed to work out a business ecosystem and systematic procedures for a scenario where successful businesses can be operated.
