More countries are opening their doors to Indian tourists taking the two-dose vaccine

More countries are opening borders for Indian tourists who have taken two doses of the covid vaccine. Sri Lanka is one of the last countries on this list. Another feature is that Sri Lanka approves both covishield and covaxin vaccines. Most countries are only accepting the Covishield.

Those who have taken a single dose or have not been vaccinated cannot enter Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, those who have taken a single dose of the vaccine and later recovered from covid can come to Sri Lanka. This facility is available to those who have recovered within 28 to 90 days. They should also provide a document stating this.

Those who have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca, Pfizer Biotech, Modina, Johnson & Johnson will receive this benefit.

You need to get a tourist visa before going directly to Sri Lanka. Visa can be obtained through the website eta.gov.lk. Before applying for a visa, you need to book a hotel room in Three Star or above to stay in Sri Lanka for the first two days. You have to go to this hotel after undergoing the RTPCR test at the airport. You can only exit if the result is negative.

Passengers must pay for the covid-19 Local Travel Insurance and RTPCR test. Children under the age of two will not be screened. Apart from Sri Lanka, countries like Oman, Switzerland, France, and Spain also allow direct entry to Indian tourists who have been vaccinated with the two-dose. However, these countries have only recognized the Covishield.
