The Gavi tourism sector has reopened for tourists

After a long vacation of months due to covid, the Gavi tourism sector Reopened for travelers. Tourists flock to see the snow-capped Gavi during the Onam holidays. Subject to covid concessions, the Forest Department has opened Gavi Eco-Tourism.

Access through Angamoozhi and Kochandi check posts is for vehicles booked online only. The entrance fee is Rs 60 for locals and Rs 120 for foreigners. Admission will be allowed for the first 30 registered vehicles.

Those who book online must collect tickets from the Angamoozhi Goodrickal Forest Range office in the morning to begin the journey. Kerala Forest Development Corporation will provide facilities for tourists.

Those coming by Vandi Periyar can spend time in Gavi from 7 am to 4.30 pm. These special packages include a trained eco-tourism guide service, boating at Gavi Dam, trekking and cycling, Sabarimala View Point, Cardamom Garden, and snow-capped areas of Chentamara Kokka. It also includes breakfast, lunch, and evening tea.

A special package is available for those who want to stay overnight from 2 pm to 2 pm the next day. You will also get the opportunity to travel through the forest in the morning. Safe tents and night camping facilities will be arranged. In the stillness of the night, the presence of wildlife can be felt as sound, smell, and sight.
