Time to reach out to tourists to rekindle connections: ATTOI virtual conference

The Association of Tourism Trade Organisations India (ATTOI) has conducted a virtual members conference, and said various tourism stakeholders should reach out to tourists who had previously visited the state, in order to rekindle connections.

As one of the key members of ATTOI, Baby Mathew said that over time thousands and thousands of tourists have visited Kerala. If hotels and resorts can reach out to them via e-mail or any other suitable platform just to enquire about their well-being, that would be a great gesture.

This is a time to keep up marketing efforts and keep in touch with guests. With the corona virus pandemic having affected tourists of all nationalities, anyone who gets reached out to, will remember us fondly, Baby Mathew said, while attending ATTOI’s virtual meeting.

ATTOI President Vinod CS said the stakeholders should make this period productive. The various CEOs should think about the period that will come after the end of this epidemic. Towards that period we should prepare ourselves, he said.

Ayurvedic doctors in resorts can prepare syllabus for therapists, so that they gain vital theoretical knowledge. People in the front office can update themselves about reservation and accounting software like Tally, Vinod remarked.

Former president of ATTOI & CEO of Travel Planners, Anish Kumar PK said positive news should be spread about Kerala and India in global tourism circles. There has been negative publicity on Twitter and efforts have to be made to spread as much positivity as possible, he said, while emphasising on the need to use social media better.
