The big bird is set to spread its wings on July 4

Jatayu Nature Park, one of the most anticipated tourism projects in Kerala, is all set to open its door for the public on July 4, said Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism, Kerala.  The park, which was slated to be inaugurated officially on May 23rd, began its partial operation in the Adventure Rock Hill back in December 2017.

The park situated at a whopping 65 acres of land holds the distinction of having the world’s first functional sculpture. It is also India’s first fully fenced park with all safety measures ensured for the visitors. The park also features 4 features and 4 ventures in one destination. The 4 hills that feature in the park are Jatayu Rock Hill, Adventure Rock Hill, Elephant Rock Hill and Kitchen Rock Hill.

The 200 feet long, 150 feet wide, 70 feet tall, functional bird sculpture of Jatayu is located at Jatayu Rock Hill. Adventure activities like rock climbing, paintball etc are facilitated at the Adventure Rock hill, which is currently functional. Tented accommodation, camp fire, moonlight dinner, live music, live kitchen etc can be experienced at the Elephant Rock Hill. Kitchen Rock Hill will provide traditional siddha ayurveda treatment.

Even though many adventures tourism spots are available in South India, the Jatayu Park has the label of South India’s first rock tourism spot. The park also gifts us mesmeric experiences like cable car, 6-D theatre, digital museum, sunrise and sunset view through the bird’s eye etc. The bird sculpture is also a tribute to women. Jatayu was the one who fought with Ravana while he was trying to abduct Seetha. The sculpture designed by film director Rajiv Anchal is definitely a treat to the eyes. With the Jatayu Park situated on the road to Kottayam, people will have an easy access to the spot. The park will be definitely setting new benchmark for the Kerala tourism.
