Kerala’s Kochi is very safe for tourists

Kochi, also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, is a major port city located on the south-west coast of India. The city, with its pristine lakes, beaches, Fests, Art and Architecture attracts a wide number of inbound foreign tourist arrival annually.

As per the Kochi Police, the city records zero crime rates against foreign tourists for the past two years, which marks Kochi as a safe destination to enjoy holidays.

“For the past few months, no crimes against foreigners have been reported,” said DCP (Crimes and Administration) A R Premkumar. Additionally, the city also hosts India’s first tourism police station dedicated to protect tourists from any crisis.

However, maintaining a strict law and order is challenging to the police, as they use modern technological amenities to tackle the situation. Police have dedicated WhatsApp groups and Facebook pages, that enhances community participation to provide fast response against any cheating case with foreign travellers.
