Abu Dhabi records tourist inflation in February

The flow of winter travellers to Abu Dhabi marked the highest hotel occupancy rate in February. According to reports, over 100 hotels in the capital city marked full during February.

The Department of Tourism and Culture (DTC), Abu Dhabi revels that the figures excel with Asian countries of India and China with the most number of visitors.

According to reports, over 34,000 Indian nationals arrived in January that is 31.5 per cent more than the previous year. Meanwhile, over 35,000 Chinese travellers showed up in the country, which marked the largest income from the market with 31 per cent more arrivals.

“We are building on last year’s success and have seen an impressive start to this year recording more than seven per cent year-on-year growth,” said Saif Saeed Ghobash, Director General of DCT Abu Dhabi.

“Our tier one markets, China, India, UK, Germany, Saudi Arabia and the United States are performing particularly well with all of them recording more than 10 per cent growth in January,” he added.
