Kerala Tourism competes for top honours in SAMMIE Awards

Kerala Tourism has always been lauded for its thought-provoking, creative social media campaigns. And, this time, the Tourism Department is competing in SAMMIE- Best Social Media Brand Award.

The second edition of Best Social Media Brands is looking for human brands, managed to have disrupted a fairly new medium with innovation, raw creativity, and responsibility. Brands can enroll across 19 parent categories and one Special Awards category (with 14 sub-categories).

Siddharth Banerjee, Executive Vice President, Vodafone India, is the Jury Chair for Best Social Media Awards. Apruva Chamaria, Chief Revenue Officer, Rategain; Prashanth Challapalli, Chief Integration Officer At Leo Burnett; Sanjay Mehta, Jt. CEO, Mirum India; Shoumyan Biswas, VP Marketing at Flipkart; Sulina Menon, Mangaging Partner, OMD India and Vivek Bhargava, CEO, DAN Performance Group are also included in the jury panel.

Kerala Tourism has recently received an award for the best Facebook page in a ranking done by Facebook based on total engagement with tourists, including reactions, shares and comments, on the page between the January 1 and December 31, 2017. Kerala Tourism has received the ‘hall of fame’ award for the ‘most innovative use of information technology – social media / mobile app’ for the ninth consecutive year at a function organised by the Union Ministry of Tourism on World Tourism Day in New Delhi on September 27, 2017. Earlier, Kerala Tourism has clinched the second prize for Social Media and e-Governance in the Kerala State e-governance Awards for 2014-15.

Kerala Tourism has upped the digital marketing budget to 15 per cent for the current financial year.
