Renamed PWD Resthouses; The public can also book online

During a question and answer session in the Assembly, Minister Mohammad Riyaz said that the PWD rest houses would be converted into people’s rest houses. As part of this, an online booking facility will be available on November 1 where the public can book rooms.

If you need a room in a rest house, the general public can now book online through the portal. The online system will be set up without losing the existing facilities for the officers.

The aim is to make the rest house more people friendly and turn it into a people’s rest house. The Public Works Department has the largest accommodation in the state. There are 1151 rooms in 153 rest houses. Some of these are in the most important places.

A plan has also been prepared to renovate the rest houses. It has been decided to renovate 30 rest houses selected in the first phase. For this, KTDC Managing Director has been appointed as the Nodal Officer.
