Punalur suspension bridge not open; Disappointed travelers

The suspension bridge at Punalur, a historical monument has not been opened, despite the opening of tourist attractions due to the reduction of restrictions by the covid. Many tourist places in the eastern region such as Thenmala Ecotourism, Senthuruni and Palaruvi have opened in recent days.

The authorities in Punalur also said that permission has not been granted to open the suspension bridge under the control of the Archaeological Department. The bridge was closed and reopened several times in accordance with covid regulations.

When the bridge opened earlier with restrictions, visitors were admitted with strict restrictions. Now many people come to visit the bridge but it can only be seen from outside. So no one can walk across the bridge or enjoy the construction skills.
