Illickal Kal opened; Those who do not meet the conditions will not have access

With the easing of covid restrictions, people began to flock to tourist destinations. Visitors came from different parts of the state on the first day of the opening of the District Tourism Promotion Council’s Illikkal Kal and Aruvikuzhi tourism centers.

About 60 people reached Illikkal kal yesterday. Access is restricted by the passenger’s name, address, and Aadhaar number.

Passes are not issued to those who do not comply with government regulations. 2 hours is provided to passengers. Up to 40 people will be allowed at a time. The remaining entry will be given only after the passengers who have entered return. The vehicle should be parked below and then walked on. DTPC’s vehicle service has not yet begun and will start in 2 days.

The first day was also crowded at Aruvikuzhi Falls. Admission is limited to 40 people. DTPC secretary Bindu Nair said there were 3 guards at both the centers. Tourist bookings have also started in Kumarakom. About 25 percent of the rooms at various resorts had visitors yesterday. It is hoped that more tourists will arrive with Onam. Houseboats and backwater trips have begun. Those who do not comply with government regulations will not have access.
