Leading tourism associations have come forward to congratulate the Kerala state government’s decision to announce a financial package worth Rs 455 crore, which will be used to provide loans to entrepreneurs and employees in the industry.

ATTOI President Vinod CS said he would like to congratulate the State Government, Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran, Tourism Secretary Rani George and all the officials of the tourism department for putting together this package.

“This is will be highly beneficial for the sector,” he said. “Covid-19 has destroyed the sector. Many had lost their jobs and entrepreneurs didn’t have a clue on how to move forward. In such a scenario, associations like ATTOI and others had demanded support from the government.”

CATO President Mr Sanjeev Kumar said he would like to congratulate the state government for taking such a step, when the tourism sector most needed it. “This will go a long way in supporting the industry, and help us to turn around its fortunes,” he said.
