Excerpts from the conversation…

Could you please tell us about the story behind your blogging?

Being a single child I was too much pampered for the last 26 years. But things got changed when I got married and shifted to Hyderabad from Kolkata. My husband used to go to work and I used to search for job. I started feeling lonely and isolated in this new city. So one day I called my dad, he sensed my sadness and said “If you give importance to a particular thing too much it will become so heavy that the rest of the things will fall weak which will eventually disturb the balance of your mind.”

His words boost me up and I finally started doing those things which once I thought are just impossible for me. One of them was cooking. When I first started cooking, it was just a time pass act for me but gradually I started loving the art of cooking and tried out new recipes too.

Another thing is there, which is the favourite part of my life i.e. travel. Be it a long trip or a short one or may be just a long drive for few hours, travel is always on my mind. I believe travel teaches one a lot.

The last thing but not the least is that I just love eating – Live to Eat. Jokes apart, for my this immense love, going out, ordering food, loving and criticising them are my daily affairs.

Knowing my interests, my husband one fine day suggested me to start writing my experiences and suggested me to start a website. I started blogging very causally and posted them in social media. In the mean time I grabbed a job as a senior software engineer also. Gradually I started getting responses from unknown people as well as friends , their feedbacks inspired me so much that from then till now there’s no stopping in blogging.

What’s your favourite Indian dish and why?

My all time favourite dish is a mixed veg spinach curry with fried lentil dumplings as toppings. And, the best food I have tried in Kerala is Idiyappam with chicken curry. Recently, I tried turning some of these vegetables into a chutney and not a curry and it came out well. You can check out the recipe here.

What would be your dream destination regarding food?

Oh I still haven’t find one may be I will make one. Jokes apart, a place where I can get all kind of desserts from all part of India regardless of city/village. I have a big sweet tooth.
