Ponmudi KTDC Resort to have additional 15 rooms

Ponmudi, the renowned tourist destination of Thiruvananathpuaram, is going to have additional 15 rooms, including 5 independent cottages, in the Golden Peak Resort. Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran will dedicate the additional facilities to the public on 18th December 2018. A Sampath MP, DK Murali MLA and M Vijayakumar, KTDC Chairman, will also attend the function, among other dignitaries from KTDC and the local bodies.

The additional facilities are constructed with a cost of Rs. 3.2 crores. The tariff of the cottages will be ranging from Rs 1500 to Rs 3600.

The cottages are constructed in the traditional Kerala style, with spectacular views of the panoramic mountains and cliffs. One can enjoy the scenic beauty of the valley from the bedroom itself.

Earlier, the tariffs for the old cottages were starting from Rs 2200. It has been reduced to Rs 1500 with a view to provide accommodation to the common tourists, who may not afford the high rates. The new cottages will be available from Rs 3000; it may increase to Rs 3600 during holidays.

Renovation works of the old cottages also underway. KTDC also envisages providing a hot water swimming pool for the families and playing area for the children. Construction of a new guest house near the police station is also in progress.
