Foreign tourists in big groups arrive in Kochi

The tourism sector of Kerala, which was almost stagnant after the floods, has been reviving slowly, but steadily.  Tourists from around the world are flocking to Kerala, as the season has started. Chartered flights with 600 foreign tourists have landed in Kochi yesterday. Around 2000 tourists have already reached Kochi by ship last day.

The tourists will be in Kerala for two days and will visit the tourism hotspots in Alappuzha and Ernakulam. From those who have arrived on ships, around 1000 persons will return by flight and the tourists arrived by flight will return by ship. It is the largest group of tourist arrival after the floods.

District Tourism Promotion Council has organized heartwarming welcome to the tourists arrived at the Cochin International Airport. The group of 600 tourists has arrived at the airport in two flights and another group with around 300 passengers will arrive today. The mass arrival of foreign tourists is expected to give a fillip to the Kerala tourism industry.
