Kashmir Tourism conducts roadshows in Russia and St Petersburg

As part of the incessant efforts of the state to lure tourists to the valley, the Kashmir tourism department has held road shows at Moscow and St Petersburg.

Tasaduq Jeelani, Director Tourism, Kashmir, said that the responses from the tour operators were positive. “I personally talked to the heads of the travel trade from Moscow and St Petersburg, who assured that they would send groups to Jammu and Kashmir for holidays, especially for adventure and heritage tourism,” said Jeelani.

Other than presentations, showcasing Jammu and Kashmir’s diverse culture, art and craft, breath-taking beauty of Kashir; few short films highlighting the tourism potential of the state also screened during the shows.

Travel agents from various states have participated in the event in association with the Union Ministry of Tourism. Tour operators from other countries also were taking part in the tourism event in Russia.

“Travel agents from different parts of globe, including India, participated in tourism shows held at the Ritz-Carlton hotel, Moscow, on Monday, 8th October 2018 and another travel show were conducted on Tuesday at Belmond Grand Hotel in St Petersburg,” Jeelani added.

Besides the tourism Director Tasaduq Jeelani, DB VenkateshVerma, Ambassador of India to Russia; G Balasubramanian, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Embassy of India in Moscow also participated in the travel show.
